SUMMARY
The success of the Army transformation is predominantly stipulated by the benevolent attitude of the milieu in and through which that very transformation takes place, i.e., by the degree of the conscious engagement of the officer corps in the defense reforms. Meanwhile, the officers ought not only apprehend the necessity of the reforms, but also act as active proponents of the very idea of reforms, possessing leadership, teaching, and mentoring skills. This implies that in order to ensure the effective development of an officer corps displaying key personal qualities, a thorough study of the social and pedagogical problem regarding the training of cadets at the MOD RA military higher education institution should be carried out; existing shortcomings, tasks and their causes should be identified; analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the social and psychological, and regulatory components should be done, etc. Implementing this study-based recommendations will contribute to increasing the applicability and feasibility of the social and pedagogical, as well as social and psychological components for ensuring the quality of military education in general, and the training of cadets for commissioned service, in particular, so as to improve the efficiency of C2 in the military units in the future.
Both from the point of endowing today’s cadets – the future officers – with professional competence and skills, and that of developing long-term, sustainable motivation for psychological innovations and the ability to properly educate their subordinates, the buildup and ongoing modernization of an effective system of social and pedagogical training in military-educational institutions is highly prioritized.
