SUMMARY
The development of the RA Armed Forces, and the optimization carried out in line with it do impose new qualitative requirements on the level of officers’ professional skill. These requirements must be reflected in the military education by way of developing and introducing new mechanisms to ensure continuity, effective interconnection and high quality learning. Modernization of military education should result in the creation of a comprehensive system that will make it possible to shape not only well-trained specialists who meet the requirements of modern warfare, but also harmoniously developed individuals capable of solving the complex and diverse tasks facing them.
As an integral part of the general education system, military education has features imparting a regulated, systematized, systematic character to the military educational process, which determines the choice of training models and technologies, methods of teaching, training and assessment. Taking into account all of the above, it is expedient to consider the following priorities when organizing modern military education in the Republic of Armenia: updating the legal framework of military education and bringing it in line with modern realities; reviewing the content of educational programs and ensuring officers’ phased and continuous education with the logical complementarity of these programs at the strategic, operational and tactical levels; developing the abilities of teaching staff through retraining and involving them in research work; reviewing and improving educational technologies, forms of teaching, training and assessment.
