SUMMARY
The article examines the structural forms of spatial planning – linear, rectangular-lattice, irregular, radial-ring, radial – from the point of the structural features of settlements and their combat resistance. It is pointed out that during the construction of populated areas, the following factors are important to be taken into account from the perspective of combat resistance: the street and road network, provision of communications and evacuation routes, retention of yellow lines, calculations of the degree of destruction of buildings and kill zones, large-scale changes in strategic objects, consideration of the soil conditions of the environment.
Analysis of such data as the possibility of communication and maintenance of buildings and constructions, ensuring conditions for uninterrupted vital activity, landscape features of the building placements, the shape and width of nearby streets, the type of soil, can be useful for classifying territories and subterritories with the account of combat resistance, and identifying the vulnerable components and structures. In particular, special importance is attached to the design of a decentralized structure of settlements, the possibility of alternative exits during evacuation and territorial defense, which should be taken into account for ensuring the normal activity of a settlement in case the main roads are blocked.
